  • spliced in secondary power supply for +5v
  • replaced leaky battery with li-ion
  • replaced 24-pin ribbon cables
  • replaced frayed power cable
  • cleaned thoroughly (especially around blacklights and glowing surfaces)

    To do:
  • burn and install freeplay hack (see here)
  • fix original power supply 5v line
  • replace spinner artwork
  • fix one sound (background for cone level) is a solid tone (loud)

    Personal:
    so i went to look at this and a robotron that a guy in the city had for sale on craigslist about 6 months ago... i decided to pass, saw them later on and offered to fix one in trade for the other... so i repaired his robotron (power supply problems, ram problems, monitor problems, control problems) and eventually traded back and got this tron... its in decent shape except for the water damage at the bottom of the cab (and normal wear on the artwork) and some cracks on the back artwork

    easily my favorite video game, all genres, all platforms, no contest... i got a sinistar upright from a lady in a trailer home, i couldn't fix it, and eventually traded it for a robotron... i wish i still had the sinistar but i couldn't live without robotron
